Powers and Abilities




Abilities:

Pain Empowerment

John is empowered by pain. As the damage to his body increases he becomes faster, stronger and tougher in an adrenaline-like fashion. So long as he isn't overwhelmed by the pain or crippled by any injuries sustained he may act in a heightened state until the duration of the immediate pain is over.

Since John has a high threshold for pain, minor aches or wounds would not affect his stamina or abilities in any noticeable way. Pain endured during the healing state and not actively inflicted will similarly have no effect.

Enhanced Regeneration

In order to better survive the level of pain and injury John will endure, his body's natural regenerative process has been enhanced. In a resting state he will recover from trauma more efficiently. This effect will only allow the body to repair what it would ordinarily be able to fix more quickly and would not allow for regrowth of organs, prevent fatal injury or eliminate the need for medical treatment. Enhanced regeneration will only occur under the usual circumstances for natural healing, and will not be possible without proper sleep and nutrition.

Power Ranking



Intelligence: Level 3

John is of average intelligence, but well-educated and experienced. He speaks several languages and has received excellent military and special operative training, he can pick locks and bullshit with the best of them. He is observant and quick to pick up new information and utilize it to his advantage, keeping his wits about him even as bullets fly.

Strength: Level 2

John has average strength for a human male of his age, height and musculature at close to peak physical condition. He can lift up to twice his own body weight (about 300lbs) and thanks to his height, has a high jump. John is pretty good at basketball.

Speed: Level 2

John has long legs, is in good physical condition and runs at an above average but non-competitive speed. He is in no way a marathon runner. John's in his mid-forties and he's had a rough life, give him a break.

Durability: Level 4

John is a tough S.O.B and his new regenerative and pain-empowerment abilities bring him even closer to cockroach levels of durability. John can take a licking and keep on ticking, and it takes at least two bullets to knock him down unless they're particularly well aimed. He really hates it when people shoot him in the arms or legs.

He has a high threshold for pain, is stubborn as hell and doesn't know the meaning of the word bed-rest. John's old wounds sometimes give him trouble. He has a bad knee and shoulder, and never rests long enough between injuries to be 100% healthy.

Fighting Ability: Level 6

John has mastered several forms of military combat and martial arts. He is highly proficient in CQC, and has a good reach. John is a quick, efficient striker and resembles a knife more than a hammer when he fights, utilizing technique over brute force.

Weapon Skills: Level 7

John's area of expertise is weaponry. He can use any gun he picks up with brutal efficiency and has advanced knowledge of explosives and artillery. He is a great shot, an experienced sniper and hold the world-record for kneecaps shot.

Will: Level 5

John is an extremely determined man on a suicide mission. John can't be bribed, seduced or threatened into giving up and would sooner die than betray his comrades or cause. He is especially loyal to Finch and will do whatever it takes to ensure his safety.

Under ordinary circumstances he would not be susceptible to mind-control, but blinded by grief or fear (or drunk) he may become open to the power of suggestion.
